Don’t Get Caught in a Trap

Transforming a brand into a socially responsible leader doesn’t happen overnight by simply writing new marketing and advertising strategies. It takes effort to identify a vision that your customers will find credible and aligned with their values.

By now, you should be singing about vendor funded marketing from the rooftops. But, as we briefly mentioned in our last article, there are pitfalls to avoid. Vendor funded marketing is not rocket science, and it is a simple process, but there are a few things to keep in mind if you want to avoid rejection of your application.

The Rules

Every vendor has their own set of rules to follow if you wish to receive the marketing funds you deserve. These rules are strict and it is in your best interest to know the rules of each vendor you associate with, inside and out. Better yet, find yourself a reliable partner who knows exactly how to procure vendor funded marketing money. “But why all the rules, man? Can’t we just be free to do what we want?” That may work for some but it is best to remember that the rules are there to…

Protect the Vendor’s Brand and Reputation

It is in the vendor’s best interest to contribute to the marketing endeavours of their resellers but they are also very protective of their brand. This is understandable. If you work long and hard at building your company’s reputation, then you surely do not want anyone who associates with you to smash your reputation down to the ground in one afternoon. This is why it is in your best interest to respect the vendor’s wishes. For instance, vendors do not want their products to be associated with alcohol and casinos and, in some cases, some vendors will refuse being associated with another vendor, so you need to know that you will not be able to run an event promoting both of these vendors. You will know all of this when you thoroughly familiarise yourself with the rules.

If you are hesitant to tap into that vast marketing resource called vendor funded marketing, then you will need a partner to help see you through. Click here and fill in the form if you want more information.
